site specific video animation

In her site-specific video animation "Hongo", Claudia Larcher uses visual material that was filmed in the exhibition space at or nearby Tokyo Wonder Site.
In collage-like fashion, Claudia Larcher combines photography and video in her montage using digital techniques. In the exhibition space, the projection allows for perspectival shifts of the spatial architecture or doublings where the projection of architectural details stands alongside actual structures. In conceptual terms, Claudia Larcher articulates the media apparatus and spatial details like door or wall to one another, so that the determinations of representation overlap. The status of the space thus enters a field of tension marked by architectural, phenomenological, and imagined spatial sensation and the media space.
