Yama

video animation, paper collages
2010 - 2011

In YAMA a fictional pan shot depicts a traditional Japanese house, where Kimonos mingle with Koi-carps in Tatami rooms. The video animation is a collage of fragments of different rooms, inhabited by the artist during her six month stay in Japan. Claudia Larcher’s video work deals with places, that are connected to history, familiarity and memory, questioning the meaning of “home“ and ”identity“.
